In 2009, UK music licensing body PPL announced that "Chasing Cars" was the most widely played song of the decade in the UK. 'Chasing Cars' gained popularity in the US after being featured in the second season finale of the medical drama television series 'Greys Anatomy', which aired on. It has also sold 3,900,000 copies in the US by January 2015, making it one of the top best-selling rock songs in the digital era. As of 2019, the song has spent 111 weeks in the official UK top 75, 166 in the top 100 and had sold over one million copies in the UK by October 2013. At the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007, "Chasing Cars" was nominated for Best Rock Song, and at the 2007 Brit Awards it was nominated for Best British Single. Released in the post-Britpop period, the song peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is Snow Patrol's biggest-selling single to date, ending 2006 as that year's 14th best-selling single in the UK and that year had the distinction of being the last song performed live on the BBC's Top of the Pops. "Chasing Cars" became notable as one of the songs that revealed the impact of legal downloads on single sales in the UK, selling consistently for years after its release. Show me a garden that's bursting into life Let's waste time Chasing cars Around our heads I need your grace To remind me To find my own If I lay here If I just lay here Would you lie with me and. The song gained significant popularity in the US after being featured in the second season finale of the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy, which aired on. It was recorded in 2005 and released on 6 June 2006 in the United States and 24 July 2006 in the United Kingdom.

It was released as the second single from their fourth studio album, Eyes Open (2006). Wind me up Put me down Start me off and watch me go I'll be runnin' circles around you sooner than you know A little off center And I'm out of tune Just kickin' this can along the avenue But I'm alright 'Cause it's easy once you know how it's done You can't stop now It's already begun You feel it runnin' through your bones And you jerk it out And you jerk it out Shut up Hush your mouth Can't. This is simply a great album."Chasing Cars" is a song by Scottish-Northern Irish alternative rock band Snow Patrol. Great song though, I can't pick on it too much. A song about true love one you find once in a life time, one that just happens no matter how hard you try to. The explanation, "he wouldn't know what to do if he caught one" makes sense, but I still don't like it. This is a very touching & meaningful love long. I can't get used to the title, though, it just doesn't seem like the heart of the song to me. It would stand to reason that the ground could represent reality, as they would have their backs to reality in this song, later to be faced as "cold" reality and "warm" reality in the other songs, respectively. For some reason, I picture this song as a couple with their backs to the ground, staring up at the stars. There is also the matter of lying down on the ground, which appears in this song, Set the Fire to the Third Bar, and Warmer Climate. It's not shut your eyes, but it is some form of blindness. The theme of the album shows up in the line, "Here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see". For however good it feels in the moment, it's a set-up for disaster. Track 4 leads to track 5 and it is eventually revealed that this is a naive state of mind. This song seems to be the beautiful side of ignoring reality through love, whereas the next song, Shut Your Eyes, seems to be about the dangerous side. General CommentIdealized love, that's what I hear.
